A LUMAS galéria hálózat New York, London, Párizs, Berlin, Zürich és Bécs után 2012 márciusában Budapesten is megnyitja bemutatótermét. A galéria különlegessége, hogy egyedi koncepciójának és nagy szakértelmű kurátor csapatának köszönhetően egy rendkívül diverzifikált, számos világhírű és nemzetközileg elismert művészeket tömörítő portfólióval rendelkezik. A galéria több mint 160 művész munkáit kínálja a grafika, illetve a modern és kortárs fotóművészet iránt érdeklődőknek. A művész aláírásával ellátott, múzeum minőségű, eredeti fotográfiák, limitált (75-150 példány) kiadásban kerülnek bemutatásra, mely koncepció biztosítja mindenki számára az elérhető árat.

A galéria élére keresünk olyan lelkes, agilis, kellően kvalifikált, művészetekre fogékony és az üzleti életben egyaránt jártas vezetőt, aki érzi magában, hogy egy 3-5 fős csapattal együtt sikerre tudja vinni a galériát Magyarországon is.

Job Requirements GENERAL SUMMARY:

We are looking for an enthusiastic Gallery Director to work in our new, fast-paced gallery.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONIBILITIES:

The Gallery Director is responsible for the commercial and artistic success of the gallery. This involves overseeing the diverse activities involved in running a gallery space. Responsibilities range from dealing with clients to installing exhibitions. The job demands a combination of artistic awareness, business acumen, interpersonal skills and practical abilities.

Gallery Directors activities involve, but are not limited to:
ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the gallery;

developing and/or maintaining the gallery's remit;

maintaining ongoing promotion and advertising of the gallery;

assessment and selection of art work;

overseeing the type of art work sold;

planning, organizing, presenting and marketing exhibitions and shows,

including responsibility for public relations;

working closely with individual artists, developing relationships with new artists, and extending relationships with established artists from the gallery;

promoting exhibitions and work by individual artists;

curating shows in cooperation with artists and technicians;

arranging transportation of works to and from the gallery, both nationally and internationally;

negotiating with gallery managers and curators from other galleries to arrange for loans;

keeping staff briefed on technical and artistic matters relating to programming;

developing client lists by notifying potential clients of particular works and exhibitions, according to their stated interests;

extending the client database;

liaising with visiting artists and negotiating sales;

cataloguing acquisitions and keeping records and archives;

developing and updating the gallery website;

promoting and selling artistsʼwork;

through both exhibitions and personal contacts;

keeping up to date with industry developments and market trends;

budgeting; finance and accounts;

general administration.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / Skills, knowledge and abilities:

deep understanding of fundamental gallery management excellent attention to detail and organization in all aspects of work ability to meet deadlines and multi-task with minimal supervision motivated, self-starter with the desire to work collaboratively strong verbal and written communication skills must show knowledge in contemporary art and design and love and appreciation for the art of photography speak advanced English and is expected to have business writing skills.

Should preferably possess a Certificate of Advanced English (CAE). It is also preferred that he/she also spoke another language (German, Spanish, Italian) fluently.

Preferred Educational Level:

MA or BA diploma, preferably in the field of arts but a business degree is also welcomed.
