- What is the idea behind using cheap cameras in your photography?
Mi az elképzelés az olcsó kamerák használatával kapcsolatban művészetedben?
- mostly its not spending a lot of money and, especially these days, technology offers so much for so little investment. I've owned Nikons, Mamiyas, Lomos, Poloroids, Action Trackers, and nothing has shown more versatility & ability than my little digital point & shoot. plus (on the cheaper end & Lomo type cameras) its partly about finding a sense of perfection in imperfection.

Voltak Nikonjaim, Mamiyaim, Lomosaim, Polaridjaim, Akcion Trackerek, de egyikük sem mutatott akkora rugalmasságot és annyiféle képességet, mint a kis, filléres digitális kamerám. - Why do you think that in this world, which is already overloaded with images, with reproductions of all sorts, there is still need for more pictures?
Miért gondolod, hogy ennek a képekkel, mindenféle reprodukciókkal elárasztott, túltelített világnak szüksége van még több képre?
- if you strive to create images that feel unique to you, you will always have something to add to the world, and there will be room for it. The image world could use less repetition tho, too much same-same around these days.
Ha késztetést érzel, hogy olyan képeket alkoss, amelyek különlegesnek tűnnek neked, mindig lesz valamit adnod a világnak, és lesz hely számára. A képek világa ugyanakkor jobban boldogulna kevesebb ismétléssel, túl sok ugyanaz ismétlődik mostanában.
- How did you get connected to Jamaican music?
Hogyan kerültél kapcsolatba a jamaicai zenével?
- went to a high school in the late 60s - early 70s that was 5 % white the year I graduated. I was immersed in black music all day at school & rock & roll all night at home. I got a real sense of the african element in american black music. So when i started getting into reggae that was what i gravitated to. i originally laughed at reggae as being plinky plinky rhythm. then one night at a stoned halloween party i put on a wailers lp as a joke & it suddenly all made sense. i think there were joints involved in that revelation. i really liked the parallels i found in the development of reggae with american black music 60s - 70s, & the 'identifying with africa' common to both.
Az 1960-70-es években olyan középiskolába jártam, ahol csak 5% volt a fehér diákok aránya. Napközben fekete zene vett körül, és rock&roll-t hallgattam éjszakánként. Nagyon megfogott a fekete amerikai zenében lévő afrikai elem. Ez vezetett a Jamaicai zenéhez. Először csak nevettem a reggae-n, plinki-plinki ritmusnak gondoltam. Aztán egy éjjel egy beszívott Halloween bulin, viccnek szánva felraktam egy Wailers lemezt, s hirtelen értelmet találtam benne. Gondolom, az elszívott jointoknak szerepe volt a revelációban. Nagyon tetszettek a párhuzamok a reggae és az 1960-70-es évek amerikai fekete zenéjének kialakulása között, és az, hogy azonosítani tudtam Afrikát mindkettőben.
- Do you think it is still worth listening to the sounds which come out of contemporary Jamaica?
Gondolod, hogy még most is érdemes figyelni a jamaicai kortárs zenére?
- you should always pay attention, but its been a long time since anything current from JA excited me. i mean a loooong time.
Mindig figyelni kell, annak ellenére, hogy már hosszú ideje nem hallottam olyan kurens Jamaicai zenét, ami izgalomba hozott volna. Úgy értem, nagyon hosszúúúú ideje.
- What are your future plans?
