This partnership includes Artalk from Czech Republic / Slovakia, Artportal from Hungary, Revista Arta Online from Romania and SZUM from Poland.
EAST ART MAGS (EAM) is aiming to become a platform of content making about the current proceedings of the contemporary art scenes in the abovementioned countries. EAM’s first project is an art critic residency and content sharing program throughout 2017.
The residency program has two legs, one in Romania and one in the Visegrad countries and includes six cities all together: Bucharest, Budapest, Cluj, Bratislava, Prague, Warsaw.
The main goal of this program is to produce and publish articles on a bilateral basis and publishing them in both languages and also in English. Providing information about each other to each other and also to the readers worldwide who are interested in this region’s contemporary art scene. On the second place EAM is about making connections, exchanging ideas, forming a network, which can be the foundation of further collaborations between the participating magazines and individual authors.
Each of the four magazines are sending and hosting writers and are taking responsibility for the quality of the content produced within the framework of EAM. Each resident holds a presentation in the hosting city to the local art community about a subject of his or her choice. These events are opened to the public.
EAST ART MAGS residency and content sharing program is supported by AFCN in Romania and by VISEGRAD FUND in Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia.
