Oláh Mara Omara (1945) roma származású festőnő képein saját magát és az őt közvetlenül érintő eseményeket ábrázolja. Festményein sokszor szerepel szöveg, amely elmeséli és értelmezi a jelenetet. Műveinek témái a szegénység, a kisebbségi lét kiszolgáltatottsága, és a női sors.
A kiállításon szereplő művek e sokszínű életműből mutatnak be részleteket, amelyek egyúttal a művész által megélt, gyakran fantáziának tűnő valós események hitelességét is bizonyítják. A kiállítás a Trapéz és az Everybody Needs Art együttműködésében valósul meg.

In her works, Omara Mara Oláh (b. 1945), a painter of Romani descent, creates self-portraits and depicts events that happen with and around her. Her paintings often contain texts that recount and interpret the portrayed scene. Poverty, the vulnerability of the minorities, and, within that, the fate of women, comprise the central themes of her works.The artworks exhibited feature a selection of her versatile oeuvre while also prove the authenticity of her stories that were often labeled as fantasy. The exhibition is realized in collaboration with Everybody Needs Art.
